Doctoral Consortium
A special doctoral consortium will take place on Thursday, May 20. This
doctoral consortium is targeted at students who are at the stage of
dissertation proposal-writing or data collection, and who are conducting
research on a computer personnel research topic. During fall 2009 and
winter 2010, each student who submits to the doctoral consortium will
have an opportunity to have their research proposal reviewed by a panel
of qualified faculty mentors.
In Vancouver,
each student will have a full 30 minutes to present their research ideas
and to receive feedback in-person from six-to-eight experienced
personnel researchers. Doctoral students should be nominated to the
consortium by an email message from a faculty sponsor, indicating that
they are at an appropriate stage of their PhD program (normally in the
3rd or 4th year, but basically at the stage of dissertation
proposal-writing). Students nominated for the consortium should submit a
research proposal to be reviewed by the consortium mentors. At most,
three students per PhD program may be nominated to the consortium.
